As part of a prestigious London-based project to create luxury studio apartments, Everglade Windows manufactured and installed windows, doors, rainscreen cladding and curtain walling, which totalled a £1.2 million contract.
At The Quarters by Bravo on Finchley Road, more than 200 aluminium sliding doors were fitted alongside aluminium strip cladding, and bespoke, man-made reconstituted honeycomb stone and soffit strip terracotta tiles.
On the ground floor, which was fitted out for retail use, Everglade Windows installed curtain walling as part of the immaculately presented north-west London development. High performance glass curtain walling was also installed in the stairwell of the multi-storey project.
Aluminium windows, with outward opening casements, were designed and supplied by Everglade Windows to provide architects and specifiers with full design flexibility.
Glazing with high acoustic abatement was specified as part of this development – which is just a stone’s throw away from London’s O2 and Wembley Park.
Everglade Windows installed acoustic glazing to help dissipate noise in each of the studio apartments and throughout the first-floor office area.
During the 18-month contract, designers at Everglade Windows worked together to bring the project to life, integrating windows, curtain walling and specialist zinc rainscreen cladding to create the right aesthetics.
Everglade Windows carried out the design work for all the glazing and cladding, manufacturing many of the elements in their factory then transporting to assemble on site.
Good logistical planning was needed due to the busy location. Throughout the 18-month project, Everglade Windows meticulously planned each and every delivery and worked to tight deadlines. Specialist cranes delivered products to the London site, at timed slots to avoid extra traffic disruption and congestion.
At the rear of the development, a private courtyard was created at The Quarters, to provide guests with a relaxing retreat complete with sleek patio area in composite stone, benched seating areas and a 6ft high living wall to provide privacy.
Jayesh Hirani, Director at Everglade Windows, says: “This exceptional project really showed off our design capability and achieved a stunning aesthetic.
“It was rewarding to see such a full range of our products being used and watching how they helped bring The Quarters development to life.
“The internal and exterior fittings showed off our ability to provide a high level of technical detail, which was crucial in a project of this scale. The interfaces between the glazing and the cladding was a complex design requirement which needed precise manufacturing. We achieved great things here and the finished development is impressive.”
